- Georgia Tech upped its overall record to 4-2 overall and moved into second place in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division standings with a 3-1 league record.
- Wake Forest suffered its third-straight loss to fall to 4-3 overall (1-3 ACC).
- Georgia Tech has won at least four of its first six games for the sixth time in head coach Paul Johnson's 10 seasons with the Yellow Jackets.

- Georgia Tech junior QB TaQuon Marshall's 49-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was his 10th of the season. He became only the third quarterback in Georgia Tech history with 10 rushing touchdowns in a single season, joining current GT graduate assistant coach Tevin Washington (20 in 2012, 14 in 2011) and the Yellow Jackets' honorary captain for Saturday's game, Joshua Nesbitt (18 in 2009 and 10 in 2010).
WF Team Notes
- Two players returning from injury led the Demon Deacon offense. Quarterback John Wolford, who missed the game at Clemson, threw for 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns and running back Cade Carney, who missed the last two games, rushed for a season-high 92 yards.
- Greg Dortch made eight catches for a career-high 125 yards, his second 100-yard receiving game of the season.
- On defense, Grant Dawson led the Demon Deacons with a career-high 12 tackles.
- Duke Ejiofor had six tackles, including tying a career-high with three sacks.
- In the final seconds of the first quarter, the Deacs took a 7-3 lead on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Wolford to Scotty Washington.
Wake Forest returns home next week to play Louisville. Kickoff at BB&T Field is 12:20 p.m. Georgia Tech heads to Clemson for an 8:00 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 28.
