Perez and Pulisic Named ACC Men’s Soccer Players of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – NC State’s Manny Perez has been named ACC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Duke’s Will Pulisic was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week.

Perez led NC State offensively last week, helping the Wolfpack to wins over UNCW and at No. 5/9 Louisville with a combined two goals and three assists for seven points. The freshman forward from Garner, North Carolina, assisted on both goals in the Tuesday win over UNCW and scored twice—including the winner—and assisted once during NC State’s upset win at No. 5/9 Louisville.

Pulisic was outstanding in a shutout draw at No. 12 Notre Dame Friday night. The freshman goalkeer from Mechanicsville, Virginia, finished the night with seven saves to post his sixth shutout, ranking second in the ACC. With time winding down into the 110th minute, Pulisic stopped Jon Gallagher’s penalty kick and then made a kick save on the rebound. Pulisic is averaging 6.67 saves per game in his last three games and has the most shutouts by a Duke goalie since 2013.
