GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke red-shirt senior guard Lexie Brown has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Boston College freshman guard Milan Bolden-Morris earned ACC Rookie of the Week honors, as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office and voted upon by the Blue Ribbon Panel.
Brown averaged 24.5 points, 4.0 steals, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a pair of home wins for the Blue Devils last week. She tallied 26 points, five steals, three rebounds and three assists in a 69-39 win over Maine while hitting 11-of-13 field goals and 2-of-3 from downtown. She followed up with 23 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals two days later in a 63-40 win over Wyoming. For the week, Brown knocked down 69.2 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from downtown. She hit 90.9 percent from the charity strip, draining 10-of-11 free throws.
Bolden-Morris averaged 17.0 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Eagles. She knocked down 52.2 percent of her field goal attempts, while hitting 50 percent of her 3-point attempts. The Belle Glade, Florida, native began the week with a career-high 18 points and added eight rebounds in BC’s win over New Hampshire. She followed that performance up with 16 points and five rebounds at Providence.
The ACC’s four teams in the AP Top 25 are holding strong again this week as Notre Dame and Louisville are ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Florida State is ranked No. 13 and Duke is No. 14 again this week. Syracuse continues to receive votes in the poll.
Conference play begins on Thursday, Dec. 28 with four games.
