GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Six Atlantic Coast Conference women’s soccer players have been named All-Americans by the United Soccer Coaches, including two on the first team.
Duke senior forward Imani Dorsey, the ACC Offensive Player and Midfielder of the Year, and Duke senior midfielder Rebecca Quinn, the ACC Midfielder of the Year of the Year were named to the NSCAA All-America First Team. Both Dorsey and Quinn are also semifinalists for the prestigious Missouri Athletic Club’s (MAC) Hermann Trophy.
Collecting All-America Second Team honors were Florida State sophomore forward Deyna Castellanos and North Carolina freshman and Co-ACC Freshman of the Year Alessia Russo. Duke senior defender Schuyler DeBree, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and Notre Dame senior midfielder Sandra Yu were named to the third team.
All six All-America selections were also named to the NSCAA All-East Region First Team. The ACC collected 21 All-East Region Team honors, which included representatives from nine different league schools. Duke led the way with five selections, followed by North Carolina with four, Virginia with three, Florida State, Notre Dame and Wake Forest with two apiece and Boston College, Louisville and NC State each had one honoree.
