Chubb Headlines Walter Camp All-America Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Led by NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb, the Atlantic Coast Conference placed 11 players on the Walter Camp Football Foundation All-America Teams, the 128th honored by the organization.  The nation’s oldest All-America squad was announced Thursday evening on The Home Depot ESPN College Football Awards Show.

Overall, the Atlantic Coast Conference tied for the most honorees (11) with the Big Ten, followed by the Big 12 (9) and Pac-12 (6) and SEC (6).

Chub was the only first-team selection from the ACC, which had 10 players on the second team. Earlier this week, Chubb earned the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation's top defensive player by the Football Writers Association of America and the Charlotte Touchdown Club, and the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation's top defensive end.  Chubb led the ACC in tackles for loss and sacks and set the NC State career records in both categories this season. He was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year last week.

The ACC's 10 players on the Walter Camp second team include Syracuse wide receiver Steve Ishmael, Clemson offensive tackle Mitch Hyatt, Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, Clemson defensive end Austin Bryant, Clemson defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, Virginia linebacker Micah Kiser, Duke linebacker Joe Giles-Harris, Florida State safety Derwin James, Virginia safety Quin Blanding and Boston College safety Lukas Denis.
