GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson sophomore forward Robbie Robinson has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, and teammate senior defender Patrick Bunk-Andersen is this week’s ACC Defensive Player of the Week. The awards mark the final weekly ACC honors of the season.
After being injured for most of the season, Robinson netted his first two goals of the year at a crucial time for the Tigers, who wrapped up the year with two much-needed conference wins. Both goals showed off Robinson's talent from long range, with the first coming as a low shot from outside the box to give Clemson a 2-0 advantage over Syracuse, and the second on a 25-yard free kick that sealed the Tigers' 3-0 win over NC State.
Bunk-Andersen played a major role on the back line last week for the Tigers, who posted two of their best defensive efforts in conference play. More notably, in addition to contributing to the shutout of NC State in the regular-season finale, Bunk-Andersen also assisted on Clemson's first goal of the night against the Wolfpack, feeding the ball up to Kimarni Smith to record his first assist of the year on his senior night at Historic Riggs Field.
