GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame senior forward Sean MacLeod has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Syracuse senior goalkeeper Hendrik Hilpert is this week’s ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
 
MacLeod scored the first two goals of his career last week, tallying in wins over Northwestern and No. 6 Louisville. The goal against Louisville was the match winner in overtime, as the senior converted from the spot on a penalty kick to deliver the Irish the victory after teammate Thomas Ueland was hauled down from behind inside the box by a Louisville defender. 
 
Hilpert made five saves as the Orange shut out No. 1 Wake Forest, which entered the game with the NCAA’s top offense. He kept the Demon Deacons off the scoreboard in the 56th minute when he made a diving stab to knock Bruno Lapa's shot over the crossbar. He also registered four saves in a 3-1 road win at Akron earlier in the week.
 
ACC men’s soccer teams will play non-conference matches on Monday and Tuesday before six more league matches on Friday.
