ACC Women’s Basketball: Player and Rookie of the Week Announced

Notre Dame’s Ogunbowale, Georgia Tech’s Dixon and Syracuse’s Dialdi-Tabdi honored

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame senior guard Arike Ogunbowale has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Georgia Tech freshman forward Elizabeth Dixon and Syracuse redshirt freshman forward Maeve Dialdi-Tabdi share this week’s ACC Rookie of the Week honors, as announced Monday afternoon by the conference office and voted upon by the Blue Ribbon Panel. 
 
Ogunbowale averaged 22.5 points in a 2-0 week for the Fighting Irish that included wins against Penn (75-55) and No. 15/15 DePaul (101-77). She began the week with 21 points, a career-high six assists, five rebounds and two blocks against the Quakers.  She followed that by scoring 24 points and pulling down five rebounds at DePaul, where she had 19 of those points by halftime. It was her third straight game of at least 20 points. This is her third career ACC Player of the Week honor.
 
With two double-doubles on the week, Yellow Jacket freshman Dixon helped Georgia Tech go 2-0 with wins over Western Carolina and No. 14/13 Georgia. The Memphis, Tenn., native got the week started by notching her first collegiate career double-double with 13 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Her 13 points were one point shy of matching her career-high of 14 points set in the season-opener. Dixon posted her second-straight double-double on Sunday against Georgia, pulling down a game- and career-high 11 rebounds with 10 points. It was the Yellow Jackets’ first win over a ranked opponent since Jan. 15, 2017, and the first win over a ranked Georgia team since Dec. 5, 2010.

Dialdi-Tabdi averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds for the Orange in a 2-0 week. She played a critical role in Syracuse’s win over No. 20/21 Texas A&M as she contributed 15 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks. She followed that with a career high 19-points on 7-of-10 shooting in a win over Bucknell. The Paris, France, native shot 61.9 percent for the week and was 8-of-11 from the free throw line.
