Greensboro, N.C. (theACC.com)— Boston College freshman Gillian Lawlor and sophomore Connor Rounds were named the Atlantic Coast Conference female and male fencers of the week, the conference announced Thursday.
Both fencers participated in the sabre competition.
Lawlor, from Green Brook, New Jersey, posted a 14-1 record at the Northeast Fencing Conference Duals on Monday.
Rounds, from Clifton Park, New York, posted a 17-1 record, the best of the day, including 3-0 marks against Brandeis and MIT, also at the same event.
Both fencers, along with those from Duke, Notre Dame and North Carolina, will be competing at the 2018 ACC Fencing Championship, which will be held Feb. 24-25, at Carmichael Arena at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Admission is free.
