Southern California struck first with a goal in the 16th minute, the first goal that North Carolina allowed in the NCAA Championship. Emily Fox netted the equalizer in the 38th minute as the teams were tied at one apiece at halftime.

Brianna Pinto gave the Tar Heels a 2-1 lead with a goal off a header, but the Trojans knotted the match at 2-2 a few minutes later. A goal from ACC Freshman of the Year Maycee Bell was the difference, as she found the back of the net with a header off a set piece to give UNC a 3-2 win.

UCLA 4, Florida State 0 – Seminole Soccer Complex (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Florida State’s season came to an end on Friday afternoon with a 4-0 loss to second-seeded UCLA at home. It was the first NCAA Tournament loss at home for the Seminoles since November 27, 2009.

The Bruins started fast in the contest with a pair of goals in the first 20 minutes of the match. Florida State had outscored opponents, 6-1, in the NCAA Championship heading into the match but the high-powered UCLA offense was able to find success and earn the win.
