GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia Tech junior B.C. LaPrade has been named the first Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week of the 2019-20 campaign after playing a key role in the No. 16 Hokies’ 29-10 season-opening victory over visiting No. 9 Missouri on Saturday.
 
The 17th-ranked LaPrade helped turn the momentum in the early going when he tied the team score at 3-all with a 3-1 sudden victory over No. 16 Jarrett Jacques in a top 20 showdown at 157 pounds. LaPrade, of New Kent, Virginia, battled out of a possible takedown in the third period (ruled out-of-bounds), then earned the win with his own takedown with seven seconds left in the first overtime period.
