GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia’s Brandon Nakashima has been named ACC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, and Guillermo Cabrer and William Howells of Notre Dame have been selected as the Doubles Team of the Week.
Nakashima starred for Virginia in a 5-2 win over No. 1 Wake Forest. The freshman from San Diego, California, defeated No. 21-ranked Bar Botzer at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-3. Nakashima also defeated Derek Austin at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-2, in a 7-0 win over Boston College.
Cabrera, a sophomore from Lima, Peru, and Howells, a sophomore from Richmond, Virginia, went undefeated as a pair in matches against Boston College (6-1) and Ball State (7-0). The duo took down Conor Mullins and Wills Tutecky of Boston College, 6-3, and Nemanja Guzina and Marko Guzina of Ball State, 6-2.
