GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Boston College senior attacker Sam Apuzzo has been named Atlantic Coast Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while BC goalie Lauren Daly was selected as the ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Apuzzo had seven goals to help the Eagles overcome an early 7-2 deficit in BC's 14-12 comeback win over No. 10 Syracuse. With her fifth goal of the day, she became BC's all-time leading goal scorer, surpassing Covie Stanwick, who had 196 in her career. Apuzzo currently stands at 199 career goals.
Daly's 12 saves marked her career-high and played a vital role in the Eagles' win over Syracuse. Her nine saves in the second half halted the Orange offense.
