GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Syracuse attackman Nate Solomon has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and teammate Drake Porter has captured the league's Defensive Player of the Week award.
Solomon led the Orange with four points in a 9-8 overtime win over No. 2 Duke, including an assist on the game-tying goal and the overtime winner. He also collected three ground balls and scored two goals on just three shots.
Porter made 12 saves, including a crucial overtime save, and picked up another key ground ball in the extra session to lift Syracuse past the second-ranked Blue Devils 9-8 in OT. Porter made six of his saves in the final 22 minutes of regulation and overtime to allow SU to erase a four-goal deficit for the win.
