Stoner Named Season's Final ACC OT&F Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse senior distance runner Paige Stoner has been recognized as the final Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week of the 2019 season following her school record and nationally-ranked time in the Payton Jordan Invitational 5,000 meters.

Stoner posted the nation’s second-fastest 5k time of the season in a meet that featured numerous professionals. The Pottsville, Pennsylvania, native’s time of 15:28.47 bested her own school record by more than 15 seconds. She now owns a top-10 time nationally in three different events (3,000m steeplechase, 5,000m, 10,000m). This week’s honor marks the second of the season for Stoner, who was also recognized as an ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week on April 3.

Stoner will be one of many national and regional standout student-athletes competing in the 2019 ACC Track and Field Championships, which are slated this Thursday through Friday (May 9-11) on the campus of the University of Virginia.
