GREENSBORO, N.C. (TheACC.com) – Clemson junior forward Kimarni Smith and Wake Forest sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Pannenberg have been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

A native of Nottingham, England, Smith scored five goals in two matches last week, as Clemson remained unbeaten at 5-0 with wins over USC Upstate and No. 10 Notre Dame. He recorded a hat trick last Monday at home against USC Upstate and followed it up with a brace Friday in the ACC opener at Notre Dame. His five goals came on six shots, and he played a combined 102 minutes in the two matches. Smith currently leads the ACC and is tied for the national lead with seven goals.

Pannenberg recorded back-to-back shutouts in wins over Houston Baptist and Pitt last week as the top-ranked Demon Deacons improved to 5-0 this season. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native made a season-high four saves in the 2-0 win at Pitt in Wake Forest’s ACC opener. He now owns three shutouts and a 0.40 goals-against average.

ACC men’s soccer programs return to non-conference play with a pair of matches Monday, including Pitt playing host to 2018 NCAA runner-up Akron at 7 p.m. on ACC Network. On Tuesday, Smith and his Clemson teammates take on Fordham at 7 p.m. on ACC Network. Conference play continues this weekend with six matches, with three pitting ranked teams against each other, including a 6 p.m. Friday matchup between No. 10 Notre Dame and No. 18 North Carolina in Chapel Hill that will air on ACC Network.
