GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College sophomore forward Taylor Soule has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, and Virginia Tech center Elizabeth Kitley is the ACC Freshman of the Week.

ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Soule led Boston College to another 2-0 week with consecutive strong performances, as she averaged 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Last Thursday, she scored 22 points and added 12 rebounds (five offensive) to lift the Eagles to a 70-59 victory against Pitt.

The West Lebanon, New Hampshire, native battled foul trouble against Miami on Sunday, but erupted for 10 of her 16 points in the third quarter to lead Boston College to a 75-64 win. It was the Eagles first win against the Hurricanes since 2014.

For the week, Soule shot 80 percent from the floor, connecting on 16-of-20 shots. She has now scored in double digits in 19 games this season.
 
Kitley registered her second consecutive double-double with a 19-point, 10-rebound effort in Virginia Tech’s 68-62 road victory at Notre Dame. It was the program’s first-ever win at Notre Dame. She added a career-high four assists and tallied eight blocks, also a career-best, to finish just two shy of a triple-double.

Against Virginia on Sunday, she scored 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting and pulled down nine rebounds. Kitley averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the floor.

ACC women’s basketball action returns Monday night, as eighth-ranked NC State hosts Duke in a nationally televised game on ESPN2. The contest will mark the Wolfpack’s 15th Annual Play4Kay Game.
