Boston College, North Carolina Earn ACC Women’s Tennis Weekly Laurels

Greensboro, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College’s Yufei Long and North Carolina’s Alexa Graham have been named the ACC Women’s Tennis Co-Players of the Week, and the Tar Heels’ Elizabeth Scotty has been tabbed Freshman of the Week.
 
Long turned in a spectacular week for Boston College, notching three ranked wins. The junior from Shenzhen, China, defeated Virginia’s 30th-ranked Natasha Subhash and Yale’s 33rd-ranked Samantha Martinelli, both at the No. 1 singles position. In doubles, Long paired with Kylie Wilcox to defeat Yale’s No. 4-ranked doubles tandem of Samantha Martinelli Jessie Gong.
 
A senior from Garden City, New York, Alexa Graham was key in North Carolina’s shutouts of No. 10 Michigan and No. 13 Vanderbilt. She defeated Vanderbilt’s No. 22-ranked Georgia Drummy and Michigan’s 85th-ranked Andrea Cerdan, both at No. 1 singles.
 
Scotty won both of her singles matches, and both of her doubles matches, to help the Tar Heels cap an undefeated week. The rookie from Annapolis, Maryland, earned victories over Vanderbilt’s Emma Kurtz at No. 3 singles and Michigan’s Alyvia Jones at No. 4 singles. In doubles, Scotty paired with Cameron Morra for two wins at No. 3 doubles.
