GREENSBORO, N.C. - Georgia Tech's Derek Dietrich and Miami's Eric Erickson have been selected the recipients for this week's Atlantic Coast Conference baseball honors. The league recognition is a career first for both student-athletes, as Dietrich was tabbed ACC Player of the Week while Erickson was named ACC Pitcher of the Week.

Dietrich led Georgia Tech to a 2-1 record and a series win over 15th-ranked Coastal Carolina over the weekend. The Parma, Ohio, product compiled a .500 batting average on the week and tallied six hits in 12 at-bats, six RBI, three runs scored and one double, triple, home run and walk. In Sunday's 11-4 win over Coastal, the freshman shortstop belted a two-run home run in the fifth inning for his 14th homer of the season. Dietrich currently leads all freshmen in the league in home runs and RBI.

A sophomore from Sarasota, Fla., Erickson two-hit Saint Mary's (Calif.) through seven scoreless innings in leading No. 1 Miami to its fifth shutout win of the season. After allowing a leadoff double, the southpaw retired 21 of the final 22 batters he faced including 12 straight over the final four innings he pitched. On the season, Erickson boasts a 7-0 record with a 2.83 ERA while opponents are hitting just .209 against him.

Both Georgia Tech and Miami are back in action this week, as the Yellow Jackets have four games on their slate starting with a mid-week contest at Georgia on Wednesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. on CSS. Georgia Tech then returns home to host a three-game series against Clemson this weekend.

The top-ranked Hurricanes will wrap up their road schedule this weekend, traveling to Virginia Tech for three games.
