May 28, 2008 GREENSBORO, N.C. - Twenty-three ACC student-athletes earned All-America status, as announced by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) on Saturday. Duke's Matt Danowski, Zack Greer and Nick O'Hara, along with Virginia's Ken Clausen, were tabbed First Team All-Americans. Danowski, ACC Player of the Year and three-time First Team All-America selection, finished the 2008 campaign as the NCAA's leading scorer. The senior netted 41 goals and assisted on 56 more for 97 points in helping the Blue Devils reach the semifinals of the NCAA championship. Danowski's career 353 points is an all-time NCAA record. Greer was right behind Danowski in scoring this season, finishing second on the NCAA scoring list. He scored a nation-leading 65 goals and added 30 assists for total of 95 points this season. This marks the second consecutive first team nod for Greer after earning third team honors as a rookie in 2005. Also picking up his second straight first team nod is O'Hara, who led Duke in ground balls with 88. His average of 4.58 grounders per game ranks him 21st in all of Division I. The defenseman also added four goals and four assists to his 2008 resume. Virginia's Clausen, an honorable mention pick as a rookie in 2007, earned First Team honors for spearheading a stingy Cavalier defense this year. The sophomore from Downingtown, Pa., picked up a team-leading 56 ground balls and forced opponents into a team-high 28 turnovers. Clausen also netted a goal for the Cavaliers from his defense position. In addition to the first team picks, five ACC student-athletes earned second team recognition and five more earned third team honors. Nine were tabbed as honorable mention picks. 2008 USILA All-Americans
