King and Proctor Named ACC Women’s Soccer Players of the Week

King totals nine points in three wins; Proctor leads Duke to victory at No. 3 West Virginia

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State sophomore midfielder Tziarra King has been named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Duke senior goalkeeper EJ Proctor is this week’s ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
 
King totaled nine points on four goals and one assist leading NC State to a 3-0 week. The Sicklerville, North Carolina, native netted a goal and an assist in a 5-0 win at Elon, scored both of the Wolfpack’s goals in a 2-1 win over East Carolina and finished the week with a goal early in a 4-0 victory against Davidson. King leads the league with 16 points (6g, 4a) and her six goals ties a league-high.
 
Proctor earned her second-straight shutout and third overall of the year with a clean sheet in No. 11 Duke’s 4-0 domination at No. 3 West Virginia that ended the Mountaineers’ streak of 43-straight home games without a loss in regulation. Proctor recorded a season-high five saves on a total of 14 shots faced in the win at WVU. The win also snapped a two-match losing streak to the Mountaineers, avenging last year’s 1-0 defeat in the 2016 NCAA quarterfinals.
 
The latest Soccer America Top 25 has seven ACC teams ranked, with four in the top 10. Virginia leads the way at No. 3 followed by No. 6 Duke, No. 8 Florida State, No. 10 North Carolina, No. 13 Clemson, No. 18 Wake Forest and No. 25 NC State.
