KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (wakeforestsports.com)– Wake Forest suffered a 83-64 loss to No. 3 Tennessee Saturday afternoon at Thompson-Boling Arena. The Deacs, playing their first ranked opponent of the season, fell to 6-4 on the year while the Volunteers improved to 10-1.
Chaundee Brown led the Deacs with a season-high 19 points, his career-high fifth straight game in double figures.
Brandon Childress added 14 points to continue his streak of scoring in double figures in every game this season.
The first half remained close until the Vols ended the half on a 15-5 run to push a two-point advantage to a 42-30 halftime lead. Brown had 13 points to lead Wake Forest in the first half.
In the second half, the Vols pushed the lead to as many as 27 points before closing out the 83-64 victory.
The Demon Deacons return to action next Saturday, Dec. 29, to host Gardner-Webb. Game time is 2 p.m. and the contest will air on ACC Network Extra.
