GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami’s Estela Perez-Somarriba has been selected as the 2019 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Year and highlights the 2019 All-ACC Team.

The honors, announced Thursday, were determined by a vote of the leagues head coaches.
 
North Carolina’s Cameron Morra was named the Freshman of the Year, and NC State head coach Simon Earnshaw was selected as the Coach of the Year.
 
Perez-Somarriba, a two-time ACC Player of the Year, is 22-1 in dual matches on the year, including a 5-0 mark against top-10 opponents. The junior from Madrid, Spain, is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation, and has a 13-1 record in ACC play.


 
A rookie from Rockville, Maryland, Morra compiled a 19-2 dual match record. She owns a 4-1 mark against top-50 opponents and helped North Carolina to its fourth straight ACC Women’s Tennis Championship.


 
Earnshaw led NC State to new heights this season, setting new records for most wins in a season (22) and most ACC wins in a season (11), and leading NC State to a program-best No. 9 ranking. Under his leadership, the Wolfpack won 10 straight matches from March 1 to April 5, racked up 10 wins against ranked opponents and guided his team to a top-four seed in the ACC Women’s Tennis Championship.
