ATLANTA (July 15, 2019) – FOX Sports South has announced broadcast teams for the network’s coverage of Atlantic Coast Conference football for 2019.
Tom Werme (@Twerme) will serve as lead play-by-play announcer alongside lead analyst James Bates (@jb8sy). Lyndsay Rowley (@LyndsayRowley), Kelsey Wingert (@KelsWingert) and Stormy Buonantony (@StormBuonantony) will each serve as a sideline reporter in a rotating schedule throughout the season.
For select games, Evan Lepler (@EvanLepler) will serve as play-by-play announcer, paired with analyst Takeo Spikes (@TakeoSpikes51).
• Werme, a 30-year broadcast veteran, will serve in his first full season as lead play-by-play announcer after calling games for the network for four seasons. He has been broadcasting ACC sports for over 15 years in addition to his work on NBA, PGA and Major League Lacrosse telecasts.
• A three-time Emmy® Award winner, Bates will return as lead analyst for his eighth season. A former linebacker, he was a captain of the 1996 college football national champion Florida Gators and is a member of the Florida/Georgia Football Hall of Fame. Outside of the broadcast booth, Bates is an accomplished artist and adjunct professor at the University of Florida College of Journalism.
• Rowley will be serving in her fourth season as an ACC football sideline reporter. She is also rinkside reporter for Nashville Predators telecasts on FOX Sports Tennessee and the host of Predators LIVE pre- and postgame shows. Rowley has also served as a reporter for ACC baseball telecasts and as an analyst for college volleyball telecasts on the network.
• Wingert will join the network’s ACC football coverage as a sideline reporter for her first season. She also serves as a reporter for Atlanta Braves telecasts and as a host for Braves LIVE pre- and postgame shows on FOX Sports South and FOX Sports Southeast. Wingert has also served as studio host for NBA and NHL telecasts on FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports Tennessee and FOX Sports Southeast.
• Buonantony will return for her second season as a sideline reporter. She has also served as a reporter and in-stadium emcee for the Carolina Panthers, in addition to her role as a reporter for college basketball and college baseball.
• Lepler will return for his fourth season as a play-by-play announcer. He has been immersed in ACC athletics for the past 15 years, calling games in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, soccer and volleyball.
• A two-time NFL Pro Bowler, Spikes will be returning for his fifth season as an analyst. He starred at Auburn University before embarking on a 15-year NFL career as a linebacker and becoming a first-team All-Pro selection in 2004.
FOX Sports South will televise 17 ACC football games during the regular season. 2019 coverage will begin with Western Carolina vs. NC State on Saturday, September 7, at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports South and FOX Sports GO, and continue on Saturday, September 14, with The Citadel vs. Georgia Tech at 12:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports Southeast and FOX Sports GO.
