GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Georgia Tech sophomore outside hitter Julia Bergmann and Louisville sophomore opposite hitter Aiko Jones have been named ACC Volleyball Co-Players of the Week, and Clemson outside hitter Cate Long has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
 
Bergmann was key in Georgia Tech’s sweep of visiting Florida State. The Munich, Germany, native started the week with a double-double, notching 17 kills and 11 digs while hitting at a .342 clip on Wednesday’s 3-0 win over the Seminoles. Bergmann added another 13 kills and seven digs while hitting .684 in Thursday’s 3-0 win. The sophomore Yellow Jacket totaled 30 kills, 18 digs, a .456 hitting percentage, three aces and a block on the week.
 
A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Jones shined in Louisville’s sweep of No. 8 Syracuse. The Cardinal had double-digit kills in both contests, highlighted by a .500 hitting percentage on 11 kills in Friday’s 3-0 win. Jones racked up 28 total kills on a .345 hitting percentage while adding nine blocks, six digs and two aces across the two matches.
 
Long led Clemson to a win over No. 12 Miami on Thursday, Clemson’s highest ranked win in program history. Making her collegiate debut, the rookie from Clearwater, Florida, recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs. Long totaled 23 kills, 16 digs, two aces and a block in two matches against the Hurricanes.
 
The ACC will resume play Wednesday evening with Wake Forest hosting Georgia Tech at 6 p.m. on ACC Network.
