ND’s Lynn, Wake’s Pannenberg Notch ACC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame junior forward Jack Lynn was selected as the ACC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Wake Forest junior goalkeeper Andrew Pannenberg was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Lynn recorded the first hat trick of his career in a 4-1 win over Louisville on Friday evening to help the Irish clinch the No. 3 seed in the ACC North Region. It was the first hat trick by an ACC player this season. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Lynn has now scored six goals in six games. He now ranks first in the ACC in goals (6) and points (12).
 
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Pannenberg combined for Wake Forest's fourth clean sheet of the season in the Demon Deacons' 2-0 victory over NC State on Saturday night. He played 74 minutes in the victory. Pannenberg has now earned a clean sheet in three of Wake Forest's last four games. He currently ranks third in the conference in goals against average (.685) and save percentage (.808).
 
The 2020 ACC Men’s Soccer Championship kicks off Sunday with the quarterfinal round, featuring Virginia Tech-Clemson (noon), North Carolina-Notre Dame (2 p.m.), Wake Forest-Virginia (4 p.m.) and Pitt-Duke (6 p.m.). Each quarterfinal match will air on ACC Network.
