ACC Announces Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke junior attacker Katie Cronin has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Notre Dame senior midfielder Savannah Buchanan earned ACC Defensive Player the Week honors.

Cronin scored a career-high five goals in the No. 23 Blue Devils’ 16-10 win over No. 12 Virginia. The Darien, Connecticut native’s five-goal performance was the first by a Duke player this season and included her first game-winning goal. The victory was Duke's 300th as a program and snapped a three-game skid versus the Cavaliers.

Buchanan led all players with five ground balls, five draw controls and three caused turnovers in Notre Dame’s 11-7 win over No. 18 Boston College. The Baltimore native’s strong effort helped the second-ranked Fighting Irish remain unbeaten at 6-0, including a 2-0 mark in ACC play.
