GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Seven Atlantic Coast Conference women’s lacrosse programs were ranked in the final IWLCA poll, released Thursday. The ACC had the most teams in the final poll of any conference nationally.
North Carolina concluded the season as the unanimous choice as the nation’s top-ranked team after going 7-0 during the abbreviated season. The Tar Heels collected all 25 first-place votes. UNC dominated its competition, outscoring its foes by 11.3 goals per game, the largest margin in the nation.
Notre Dame (7-0) followed at No. 2 in the final poll. The Fighting Irish and Tar Heels were two of the final seven unbeaten teams in the nation.
Syracuse (7-1) checked in at No. 4 in the final poll. Virginia (7-3) finished at No. 15, Duke (6-3) at No. 18, Boston College (4-3) at No. 19 and Virginia Tech (7-2) at No. 24.
