Miami's Van Belle Named NCBWA Pitcher of the Month

SAN ANTONIO (NCBWA)– The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has tabbed  Miami’s Brian Van Belle its National Pitcher of the Month for February, it was announced on Friday afternoon.
 
Van Belle, a redshirt senior out of Pembroke Pines, Florida, had a dominating three-start month in February. Van Belle went 2-0 without allowing an earned run in the month. He tossed 20 innings, allowing only 11 hits and one unearned run, walking two and fanning 33. Miami is off to an 8-4 record to open 2020.
 
This marks the fifth consecutive year that the NCBWA has honored a player and pitcher of the month. Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball.
