GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) –
Following the conclusion of Thursday’s matches, the bracket and seeds for the 2021 ACC Women’s Soccer Championship are set.

Virginia, the nation’s top-ranked team with a 15-1-1 overall record and an 8-0-2 mark in conference play, earned a 1-1 road draw at third-ranked Florida State on Thursday night to win the ACC regular-season title outright and clinch the No. 1 seed. The Seminoles (14-1-2, 7-1-2 ACC) garnered the No. 2 seed in the upcoming ACC Championship and both teams receive a bye into the semifinals.

Fourth-seeded Notre Dame (13-4-1, 7-3) opens the ACC Championship first-round slate on Sunday at 6 p.m. and hosts fifth-seeded Clemson (11-5-1, 6-3-1). Duke (13-2-1, 7-2-1) defeated Louisville, 1-0, on the road Thursday night to clinch the No. 3 seed and hosts in-state foe, sixth-seeded Wake Forest (14-4, 6-4) in the second game on Sunday at 8 p.m.

North Carolina and Wake Forest ended the regular season with 18 points each and the Demon Deacons edged the Tar Heels for the No. 6 seed due to the second, two-team tiebreaker which is most wins in overall conference game results among common opponents.

The winner of the Notre Dame-Clemson matchup will battle No. 1 seed Virginia in the semifinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, while the Duke-Wake Forest winner will face second-seeded Florida State at 8 p.m. Friday. The semifinals and final will be held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, while first-round matches will be played on campus sites.

The first round and semifinals will air live on ACC Network and the final on Sunday, Nov. 7, will be broadcast at 1 p.m. on ESPNU.

The field includes four of the conference’s ranked teams in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll: No. 1 Virginia, No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Florida State and No. 22 Notre Dame, while Clemson and Wake Forest are receiving votes. An ACC team has been ranked No. 1 in every poll this season.
