GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Pitt junior heavyweight Jake Slinger has been named the ACC Wrestler of the Week after delivering closing pins in back-to-back matches to seal dual wins for the No. 15 Panthers on the road.
 
With Pitt leading Buffalo by three points before a raucous crowd on Friday night, Slinger recorded a second-period pin of the Bulls’ Toby Cahill to secure a 21-12 team victory. He stepped on the mat Saturday at Edinboro with the Panthers clinging to a 22-20 lead and again came through in style, pinning Max Millin in 3:54.
 
Slinger, a Pittsburgh native who began his collegiate career at George Mason, now owns a 5-1 record on the season.
