Postgame Notes
 
- Georgia Tech (16-8) advances to Friday’s 6:30 p.m. semifinal game versus top-seed Virginia (18-6). The Yellow Jackets dropped both regular-season decisions to the Cavaliers, coming out on the short end of a 64-62 score in Charlottesville on Jan. 23, and then falling 57-49 in Atlanta on Feb. 10.
 
- With Thursday’s win, Georgia Tech improved to 27-37 all-time in the ACC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets are now 1-3 in tournament play under head coach Josh Pastner.
 
- Georgia Tech has never won an ACC Tournament played in Greensboro, but it has reached the finals on three occasions, falling to Duke in 1986 (68-67), Wake Forest in 1996 (75-74) and Duke in 2010 (65-61). Thursday’s win pushed the Yellow Jackets’ record to 10-17 all-time at Greensboro Coliseum.
 
- Thursday’s victory snapped a four-game losing streak in the ACC Tournament for Georgia Tech, which had not won a game in the event since defeating Clemson in overtime at Washington, D.C., in 2016. The Yellow Jackets did not participate in the 2020 tournament.
 
- Georgia Tech shot 56.7% from the floor in the final 20 minutes versus Miami in overcoming a 33-29 halftime deficit. During the Yellow Jackets’ current seven-game winning streak, they have shot 55.4% from the floor (113-for-204). Georgia Tech shot 50 percent or better in the second half of 12 of its 17 ACC regular-season games.
 
- Senior Jordan Usher led the Yellow Jackets in scoring on Thursday with 15 points on 7-for-14 shooting from the floor. Usher is averaging 15.6 points over his last four games, hitting 26-of-47 from the floor with 12 assists and nine steals.
 
- In addition to scoring 13 points for Georgia Tech, ACC Defensive Player of the Year Jose Alvarado came up with three steals on Thursday, raising his league-leading total to 69 in 24 games.

- Alvarado now has 221 career steals, as he moved into the top 25 in the ACC's career annals. He passed Sidney Lowe (NC State, 1980-83), who had 220 steals, for the 25th slot and will move into a tie for 24th with Othell Wilson (Virginia, 1981-84) with his next steal.
 
-  Yellow Jacket junior Michael Devoe also scored 13 points, and his seven assists were just one shy of his season high versus FAMU on Dec. 18.
 
– Miami is now 17-16 all-time in the ACC Tournament, including 11-9 under head coach Jim Larrañaga. The Hurricanes are 13-9 in tournament games played in the state of North Carolina, including an 11-7 record in Greensboro.

– This year marked the third time Miami has won multiple games at the ACC Tournament, joining the 2010 and 2013 events, both of which were also held in Greensboro.
 
- Redshirt senior guard Kameron McGusty scored a game-high 25 points for the Hurricanes to lead all scorers on Thursday. McGusty scored in double figures for the 63rd time in his career, including 14 times in 2020-21.
 
- Miami senior center Nysier Brooks’ 19 points were two shy of his season high set March 5 versus Boston College.
 
- With 12 points, the Hurricanes sophomore guard Isaiah Wong scored in double digits for the 33rd time, including the 23rd this season.
