GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Pitt sophomore midfielder Valentin Noel and Boston College junior midfielder Mike Suski have been tabbed as the ACC Men’s Soccer Co-Offensive Players of the Week, while BC junior goalkeeper Christian Garner and Virginia sophomore goalkeeper Alex Rando shared ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Noel recorded a brace in No. 7 Pitt’s double-overtime victory at Duke on Friday. A native of Niort, France, Noel scored the equalizer (1-1) in the 28th minute and gave the Panthers a 2-1 lead early in the second half (54th minute). Noel entered the contest tied first in the ACC and second in the nation in total goals.
Suski scored two goals in Boston College’s 4-0 victory over Louisville on Saturday. It marked the first career multi-goal game for the Avon, Connecticut, native.
Garner recorded five saves in BC's win over Louisville as he earned his first clean sheet of the season while the Eagles posted their first victory. The Orleans, Massachusetts, native picked up his fifth career shutout.
A native of New York, New York, Rando produced his third clean sheet in four spring games for the Cavaliers after holding Virginia Tech scoreless in a 2-0 win on Friday. He made four saves while facing 14 shots.
The ACC spring season continues this weekend with the fourth of six straight weekends of league action.
