Boston College’s Charlotte North Wins 2021 Tewaaraton Award

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College senior attacker Charlotte North was named the women’s recipient of the 2021 Tewaaraton Award on Saturday. The distinction is given annually to the top female and top male college lacrosse players in the United States.

North is the ninth women’s Tewaaraton recipient from an ACC program. She joins Sam Apuzzo (2018) as Boston College’s Tewaaraton honorees.

A native of Dallas, Texas, North had one of the greatest seasons in college lacrosse history. In leading Boston College to its first-ever National Championship this season, she recorded an NCAA-record 102 goals. She added 12 assists for 114 points on the year, while also grabbing 174 draws, second most in a season at BC.

North played some of her best lacrosse late in the season, breaking the Division I record for goals in an NCAA Tournament with 31. The previous record was 23.

North was named First-Team All-ACC and to the Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-America first teams. She set the ACC and Boston College records for goals in a single game with 10 against Virginia Tech on April 10 and notched the BC record for goals in an NCAA Tournament game with eight against Temple.

North currently owns 266 career goals, which is third in ACC history.
