ACC Wins 2022 Men’s ACC/Big Ten Challenge

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference won the 24th annual ACC/Big Ten Men’s Basketball Challenge on Wednesday, capturing eight of the 14 games over three days against the Big Ten Conference to win the Commissioner’s Cup. The ACC clinched the 2022 Challenge with Notre Dame’s 70-52 victory over No. 20 Michigan State on Wednesday evening.

The ACC finished with a 13-8-3 advantage in the event, with ACC teams posting a 152-127 record. This marks the final year of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. As announced Monday, the ACC/SEC Challenge will begin in 2023.

ACC teams scored a pair of wins over ranked foes on Wednesday, with Notre Dame’s win over Michigan State and No. 17 Duke’s triumph over No. 25 Ohio State. The ACC also picked up three wins on Big Ten courts, with Pitt’s win at Northwestern, Wake Forest’s victory at Wisconsin and No. 3 Virginia’s win at Michigan.

ACC programs also defended their home courts, going 5-2 in home games.
