GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville graduate guard Chrislyn Carr has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, and Florida State guard Ta’Niya Latson earned Freshman of the Week honors. Carr was named for the first time this season, while Latson was honored for the seventh consecutive time.
ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.
Carr posted her first double-double in a Louisville uniform in the Cardinals’ 81-67 road victory at DePaul last Wednesday. The guard finished with a team-high 21 points and 17 rebounds, the most rebounds by a Louisville player since the 2017-18 season. The Davenport, Iowa, native finished 7-for-13 (53.8 percent) from the field and added three assists in the win.
Latson’s seventh weekly honor this season ties her for the second-most in conference history. The Miami, Florida, native recorded her 13th 20-point game this season, as she posted 21 points with six assists and finished a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line in the Seminoles’ 92-85 home victory over Miami. The guard scored 10 fourth-quarter points to help secure FSU’s first conference win of the season. She also grabbed a pair of rebounds and tallied a steal in the win.
