GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) - Clemson graduate guard Delicia Washington and Virginia Tech sophomore guard Georgia Amoore have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Co-Players of the Week, and Notre Dame guard Sonia Citron is the ACC Freshman of the Week for the sixth time this season.
ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Washington turned in another stellar week for the Tigers to garner consecutive ACC Player of the Week honors, averaging 24.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists last week. She led all scorers with 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting in an 87-78 win over Wake Forest last Thursday with six assists.

In Sunday’s game, the Macclenny, Florida, native tied the individual ACC season high with 40 points as Clemson pushed No. 11 Georgia Tech to overtime before falling, 92-84. Washington was 16-of-23 from the floor, scoring 16 points in the first half, 20 in the second and four in overtime. For the week, she connected on 29-of-55 (52.7%) shots for a total of 73 points with 15 rebounds, 11 assists and four steals.

Amoore led the Hokies to three victories last week, including back-to-back victories over ranked teams, a first in the history of the Virginia Tech women’s basketball program. She averaged 17.3 points, 4.3 assists and 2.0 assists. Amoore opened the week with 14 points against Clemson last Tuesday with four assists. She followed that outing with a season-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 5-of-6 from 3-point range in VT’s 73-63 victory against No. 11 Georgia Tech.

Hailing from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, Amoore closed out the week with 17 points, four rebounds and three assists to lift Virginia Tech to a 66-61 win over No. 23 North Carolina. She finished the week 18-of-36 from the floor, 13-of-24 from 3-point land with 13 assists, nine rebounds and six steals. Amoore’s step back 3-pointer against Georgia Tech was featured on SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays.

Citron earned freshman of the week honors for the sixth time this season after averaging 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds in two games for the Fighting Irish last week. She recorded 15 points in a 69-53 win over Miami last Thursday on 5-of-11 shooting. Citron scored 13 points with six rebounds in Sunday’s loss at No. 3 Louisville.

Her six ACC Freshman of the Week honors are the most by a student-athlete in the same season since North Carolina’s Janelle Bailey had seven during the 2017-18 campaign.

ACC women’s basketball action returns Tuesday evening, as Virginia hosts Miami and Florida State travels to Syracuse with both games slated to start at 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. Boston College welcomes Pitt at 7 p.m. in a matchup that will also air on ACCNX.
