GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse attackman Tucker Dordevic and Duke attackman Brennan O’Neill were chosen the ACC Co-Offensive Players of the Week, while Notre Dame goalie Liam Entenmann earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Dordevic scored a career-high six goals and nine points to lead Syracuse to a 14-9 win at Stony Brook on Saturday. The junior from Portland, Oregon, played a role in 65% (9-of-14) of the team’s goals on the day. He has posted five-or-more goals on four different occasions this season.
O’Neill recorded six goals and three assists for nine points to lead the Blue Devils to a 14-7 victory over Towson Saturday. With Duke trailing 4-2 at the half, O'Neill sparked a 7-0 third-quarter run. The sophomore from Bay Shore, New York, started the run with a goal 16 seconds into the period and added another goal and three assists as Duke took a 9-4 lead. He continued his red-hot shooting in the fourth quarter, scoring three times in the first three minutes to finish his day with a career-best nine points.
A junior from Point Lookout, New York, Entenmann made a career-high 19 saves while holding No. 17 Michigan, the country’s No. 3 scoring offense, to just seven goals in a 12-7 Fighting Irish victory. Entenmann sparked a big second quarter that allowed the Fighting Irish to take control of the game, making seven saves and allowing no goals.
ACC teams hold four of the top 12 spots in the USILA/Dynamic 2022 Men’s Coaches poll this week: Virginia (2), North Carolina (8), Duke (10) and Notre Dame (12). Conference play kicks into high gear this weekend with a pair of matches: Duke at Syracuse at noon Saturday on ESPNU and Notre Dame at Virginia at 1 p.m. Saturday on ACC Network. In non-league play, UNC entertains Bellarmine at 3 p.m. Saturday on ACC Network.
