GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – The 2022 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships will be held Wednesday through Saturday in Atlanta. Georgia Tech will host the event at McAuley Aquatic Center, which also was the site of the ACC Swimming and Diving Championships in February.
ESPN3 will provide digital broadcast coverage for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday.
ESPNU will also air a two-hour show at 7 p.m. on March 30, for the women’s championships, and at 6 p.m. on April 5, for the men’s championships.
Ten ACC programs have swimmers and/or divers competing in the event, with 56 swimmers and five divers qualifying. NC State leads all ACC schools and is tied for the second most nationally with 17 swimmers in the field. Louisville and Virginia each have nine swimmers competing, while Virginia Tech (8), Georgia Tech (4), Florida State and Notre Dame (3), North Carolina (2) and Pitt (1) also have competing swimmers. Miami has a pair of divers in the field, while North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech each have one diver competing this weekend.
A total of 270 participants (235 swimmers and 35 divers) will compete in the championships. Swimmers qualified for the championships by meeting the established minimum time for the events in which they entered. Divers were determined by performances achieved at the Zone Diving Championships, held March 7-9.
After winning the ACC Championship in February, NC State is ranked No. 2 nationally behind Texas in the latest CSCAA poll. Six ACC teams appear in the latest CSCAA top 25, Virginia Tech (8), Louisville (10), Virginia (17), Florida State (23) and Georgia Tech (24) also are ranked.
