GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke sophomore forward Michelle Cooper was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Virginia Tech junior defender Victoria Haugen earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Cooper was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season (Sept. 6). She turned in an impressive week with four goals and two assists for 10 points as No. 5 Duke defeated Boston College (3-0) and No. 22 NC State (6-0). Cooper opened the week Thursday with two goals versus Boston College. On the road against NC State on Sunday, the Clarkston, Michigan, native collected two goals and two assists for a career-high six points. She took just three shots in recording the two goals, including the game-winner. It marked her fifth multi-goal performance of her career and first in back-to-back contests.
 
A native of Bristow, Virginia, Haugen played all 180 minutes this past weekend, contributing to a pair of clean sheets as Virginia Tech earned the full six points in its weekend road swing to No. 22 NC State and Wake Forest. Haugen led a stout defensive effort throughout the weekend, as Virginia Tech limited NC State to just one shot on goal on Thursday in a 1-0 win and Wake Forest to only two shots on goal on Sunday in a 2-0 Hokies’ triumph.
 
ACC teams will play just one conference match apiece this weekend. ACC Network showcases a Thursday doubleheader with No. 18 Notre Dame at Boston College at 6 p.m. and No. 22 NC State at No. 14 Clemson at 8 p.m. There is a top-five showdown slated for 7 p.m. Friday, with No. 2 Virginia traveling to No. 5 Duke on ACC Network Extra. ACCN also broadcasts the Syracuse at Wake Forest match at noon Sunday.
