GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville junior guard Hailey Van Lith has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, and Florida State guard Ta’Niya Latson earned Freshman of the Week honors. Van Lith was named for the first time this season, while Latson was honored for a record-tying ninth time.
 
ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.
 
Van Lith averaged 24.5 points, headlined by a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line, in the Cardinals’ pair of ACC games last week. In a road setback at No. 13 Virginia Tech, the Wenatchee, Washington, native recorded a game-high 29 points with three assists and three steals. The 29 points in a single game are the second-most of her career. On Sunday at Florida State, the guard totaled 20 points with eight rebounds and set career-highs with eight assists and five steals to lead Louisville to a come-from-behind road win.
 
Latson tied former ACC standouts Tracy Connor (Wake Forest, 1992-93) and Elizabeth Williams (Duke, 2011-12) for the most ACC Rookie of the Week honors with nine. The Miami, Florida, native averaged 21.0 points and shot 50 percent (16-for-32) from the field in a pair of conference games last week. Latson opened the week with a game-high 31 points on 13-for-16 from the field in the Seminoles’ upset win over No. 11 NC State on Thursday. The offensive performance broke the program record for most 30-point games in a single season with six. Against Louisville on Sunday, she tallied 11 points and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line.
