CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State's Audrey Koenig was selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Offensive Players of the Week for the second week in a row, while Wake Forest's Emma Farrell earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Louisville's Elle Glock and Pitt's Rachel Fairbanks shared Setter of the Week honors, while the Panthers' Olivia Babcock picked up her third Freshman of the Week nod.
Koenig delivered double-doubles in both of Florida State's weekend matches, after the Seminoles won their third straight five-set match to secure a 6-0 record in conference play for the fourth time in program history. In FSU's match at Miami, the junior outside hitter tallied a career-high 24 kills along with 19 digs, a service ace and a block. Against NC State, the Wesley Chapel, Florida, native recorded her fourth career 20-kill match to accompany 15 digs, two blocks and an assist. Over the weekend, Koenig averaged 4.40 kills per set, hitting at a .494 clip, as well as 3.40 digs per set.
Farrell led Wake Forest's defense through its first ACC weekend sweep of the season, earning 3-1 victories over Boston College and Syracuse. Against the Eagles, the sophomore libero tallied a season-high 24 digs, with half in the fourth set alone, and nine assists. On Sunday, the Norcross, Georgia, native matched a team-high with 12 digs and added five assists in the win the Orange. Farrell averaged 4.50 digs per set for the weekend.
Glock took charge of the No. 5 Cardinal offense as Louisville earned a 3-1 win over North Carolina before sweeping Duke. Recording 74 total assists over the weekend, 43 came against the Tar Heels. The Wahoo, Nebraska, native added four digs, two kills and a block on Friday night. The other 31 assists came against the Blue Devils on Sunday, along with 10 digs, three kills, two aces and a block. Glock averaged 10.57 assists per set in Louisville's 2-0 weekend.
Fairbanks totaled 83 digs on the weekend, averaging 10.38 assists per set in No. 8 Pitt's 2-0 weekend, including a reverse sweep of No. 11 Georgia Tech, and a sweep over Clemson. Against the Yellow Jackets, the junior put up 42 assists, eight digs, five kills, two aces and a block to lead a Panther offense that recorded 62 kills and hit .294 in the match. The Tustin, California, native registered 41 assists, six digs, two aces and a block against the Tigers in Pitt's ninth-straight victory.
Babcock put up career, team and match-high numbers in the Panthers' undefeated weekend. The freshman right side recorded a career- and team-high 19 kills in the five-set win against No. 11 Georgia Tech, hitting .368 with six blocks, five digs and three aces. Against Clemson, the Los Angeles, California, native followed up with a team- and match-high 16 kills - recording 10 kills early in the second set. Babcock finished the weekend hitting .275 with five digs, two blocks and three more aces.
