CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Hidalgo earned her second Rookie of the Week award in as many weeks and first Player of the Week honor.

ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Hidalgo averaged 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 6.0 steals in Notre Dame’s pair of wins over Big Ten opponents Northwestern and Illinois last week. In Wednesday’s 110-52 victory over Northwestern, the Haddonfield, New Jersey, native recorded 21 points, six rebounds, five assists and six steals as the Fighting Irish scored at least 100 points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2012. In Sunday’s win over Illinois in the 2023 Citi Shamrock Classic in Washington, D.C., the guard matched a team-high 24 points with five boards, eight assists and six steals in a 79-68 triumph.
 
Hidalgo is the first freshman since Florida State’s Ta’Niya Latson on Jan. 2, 2023, to sweep the weekly awards. The freshman currently leads the ACC in scoring at 25.5 points per game and steals per game at 6.8.
