GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke and Virginia Tech posted first-round wins on Sunday in the 2023 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship Presented by Ally. The No. 9 seed Blue Devils prevailed, 12-11, at No. 8 Louisville, while the No. 7 Hokies advanced with an 18-6 victory over No. 10 Pitt.
Duke advances to the quarterfinals to play top-seeded Boston College at 11 a.m. Wednesday at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Virginia Tech moves on to play No. 2 seed Syracuse at approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday in Charlotte.
The semifinals will be played on Friday, and the championship game will be held on Sunday, April 30. ACC Network will air all seven games from Charlotte.

No. 7 Virginia Tech 18, No. 10 Pitt 6
Ella Rishko matched a tournament record with seven goals to lead the Hokies (10-8) to the first-round win. She added an assist to total eight points for the day. Olivia Vergano also scored four goals for Virginia Tech. Camdyn O'Donnell recorded a pair of goals for Pitt, which finished its season with a 4-13 record.
No. 9 Duke 12, No. 8 Louisville 11
The Blue Devils (8-9) held Louisville (5-12) scoreless for the final 11:30 of the game to rally for the first-round victory. Carly Bernstein scored Duke’s final two goals, including the eventual game winner with 3:54 remaining. Maddie Jenner recorded a hat trick and also racked up seven draw controls as the Blue Devils dominated the faceoffs, winning 19 of 27. Sara Addeche made 16 saves in a big performance for Louisville.
