Virginia’s Dickson, ND’s Entenmann Pick Up ACC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia senior attackman Xander Dickson earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Notre Dame senior goalie Liam Entenmann earned Defensive Player of the Week.

Dickson tied his career highs in both goals (7) and points (9) in the Cavaliers’ 19-12 win over No. 13 Syracuse on Saturday. Dickson’s seven goals are the most by any ACC player in a league game this season. His fifth goal of the day, which was unassisted at the 11:36 mark in the third quarter, proved to be the game-winning goal, his second of the year. The native of Greenwich, Connecticut, also tallied five ground balls and one caused turnover in the win. His seven goals tied for No. 2 all-time in UVA single-game history. Dickson’s 48 goals on the season are currently good for No. 2 in the nation and are tied for seventh on UVA’s single season goals list.

Entenmann turned in a stellar performance in the win over No. 15 North Carolina on Saturday, making a season-high 16 saves while allowing just nine goals for a save percentage of .640. A native of Point Lookout, New York, Entenmann has recorded double-digit saves in eight straight games and has 31 over his last two outings. The senior standout also recorded a caused turnover and ground ball in Saturday's contest.

All five ACC programs are ranked in the USILA top 20 this week, with Notre Dame holding the No. 1 position, followed by Duke (2), Virginia (3), North Carolina (18) and Syracuse (19).

There are a pair of league games on the schedule this weekend. On Saturday, Syracuse travels to Duke at noon on ESPNU. The Blue Devils can clinch at least a share of the ACC title with a win. On Sunday, Notre Dame heads to Virginia for a 2 p.m. contest on ACC Network.
