CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Seven Atlantic Coast Conference men's soccer league matches are on the docket this weekend, with games scheduled on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12. 
 
Seven ACC teams are ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, including three in the top 10. The ACC's seven teams in the top 25 marks the most of any conference. Pitt is No. 1 nationally for the third straight week and is followed by Stanford (5), North Carolina (7), Clemson (12), SMU (15), Duke (16) and Virginia Tech (24).

ACC teams have held the No. 1 national ranking in six of eight polls this season (Pitt 3, Clemson 2, Stanford 1).

ACC Network features a doubleheader on Friday, beginning with No. 5 Stanford at No. 15 SMU at 6 p.m. ET, followed by No. 12 Clemson at Louisville at 8 p.m. ET.

Noting ACC Men's Soccer
• This marks the sixth of nine weeks of league play. 
• ACC teams are 59-13-23 (74.2%) in non-conference play, best of any league this season.
• 13 of the 15 ACC teams have been ranked for at least one week.
• In the latest NCAA RPI on Wednesday, eight ACC teams rank among the top 30, led by Pitt at No. 1 and followed by Stanford (3), Duke (4), UNC (7), Virginia Tech (12), Clemson (16), NC State (22) and SMU (26).
• Four ACC teams rank among the top 25 nationally in scoring offense: Duke (1st, 3.10), Pitt (5th, 2.73), Notre Dame (18th, 2.27) and Clemson (21st, 2.20).
• Pitt leads the nation in scoring defense (0.55), while Stanford is fifth (0.64), UNC is 12th (0.73) and Virginia is 25th (0.82).
• Notre Dame's Matthew Roou is tied for the national lead in goals per game (1.0) and total goals (11). Duke's Adam Luckhurst (9) is eighth, while Duke's Ulfur Bjornsson, Pitt's Luis Sahmkow and UNC's Martin Vician are tied for 13th with eight goals.
• Clemson won its fourth national championship to cap the 2023 season – its second title in three years – downing ACC rival Notre Dame, 2-1, in the title game of the NCAA Men's College Cup. 
• ACC teams have won 20 NCAA men’s soccer championships, with 11 since 2001, including the last three (Clemson 2021, Syracuse 2022, Clemson 2023).
• Eight active ACC programs have won at least one national championship, the most of any conference. The 15 active ACC schools have combined for 20 titles.
• Virginia has won seven NCAA men's soccer championships, which is third most all-time. Clemson (4), Stanford (3), North Carolina (2), Duke (1), Notre Dame (1), Syracuse (1) and Wake Forest (1) also have won titles.
• Six active ACC head coaches have won D-I national championships as a head coach: Mike Noonan (Clemson), Carlos Somoano (UNC), Jay Vidovich (Pitt), Jeremy Gunn (Stanford), Ian McIntyre (Syracuse) and George Gelnovatch (Virginia). NC State's Marc Hubbard won a Division II national title in 2013.
• Thirteen of the 15 active league programs have reached the Men's College Cup. Sixty-five ACC teams have reached the Men's College Cup all-time.
• Two ACC teams advanced to the Men's College Cup in each of the last five tournaments. The ACC has had at least one team in the College Cup in 22 of the last 23 seasons.
• Nine ACC teams earned bids to the 2023 NCAA Championship, most of any conference in the 2023 tournament. Stanford (Quarterfinals) and SMU (Third Round) also competed in the 2023 tournament.
• The ACC also claimed six of the 16 national seeds: Notre Dame (2), North Carolina (3), Virginia (7), Clemson (9), Wake Forest (10) and Duke (15).
• 2023 marked the 11th straight season in which the ACC placed the most teams in the tournament and the 23rd consecutive season that at least five league teams earned a bid.
