CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke graduate midfielder Maggie Graham was selected the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Louisville junior goalkeeper Erynn Floyd was chosen as the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played October 7-13.
Graham closed Duke’s west coast swing with three goals and an assist, as Duke captured conference wins at No. 7 Stanford and No. 17 California. On Thursday, October 10, the Atlanta, Georgia, native recorded the eighth hat trick in program history and added an assist in the Blue Devils’ 4-1 victory at Stanford. Her first two goals came in the first 4:07 of the match to give Duke an early 2-0 advantage, as the quick brace marked the two quickest goals in program history. After she assisted on Devin Lynch’s tally in the 61st minute, she added a key insurance goal in the 67th minute to seal the road win. On Sunday, October 13, Graham played the entire 90 minutes and helped Duke to a come-from-behind 2-1 win at Cal.
Floyd totaled 10 saves to preserve the shutout in a scoreless draw with No. 13 Notre Dame on Saturday, October 12. The clean sheet marked the first time in 25 matches that the Fighting Irish had been held without a goal, as they entered the weekend with the ninth-best scoring offense in the nation (2.73 goals per match). The Wilton, Connecticut, native made five stops in each half, as Floyd became the first Cardinal to record double-figure saves since 2020. In conference matches this season, Floyd’s 10 saves are the most in a shutout.
A pair of conference matchups on Thursday, October 17, will be on linear networks, as Stanford heads to Louisville on ACC Network and Virginia visits Florida State. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. On Sunday, October 20, ACCN will feature a women’s soccer doubleheader, as Cal travels to face Louisville at noon ET and Notre Dame plays host to Stanford at 2 p.m. ET.
