CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Louisville senior guard Chucky Hepburn was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, and California guard Jeremiah Wilkinson and Syracuse forward Donnie Freeman shared ACC Rookie of the Week honors, as announced Monday.
 
ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
 
Hepburn had a big week at the Battle 4 Atlantis, averaging 20.0 ppg over the three contests and shooting 20 for 32 (62.5%) from the field. He also racked up a tournament-record 16 steals as well as 19 assists. In Louisville’s 89-61 victory over No. 14 Indiana, he finished with 16 points, a career-high 10 assists and seven steals, becoming the first DI player in almost two years to accumulate at least those numbers in a game. In an overtime win over West Virginia, Hepburn dropped a career-high 32 points and piled up six steals. In Louisville’s 69-64 championship-game loss to undefeated Oklahoma, Hepburn totaled 12 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. 
 
A native of Powder Springs, Georgia, Wilkinson erupted for 25 points against Mercyhurst on 75% shooting from the floor (9 of 12) and beyond the arc (6 of 8) to lead Cal to its fourth straight win and a 6-1 record, its best start since the 2016-17 season. His six 3-pointers made are tied for the most by any ACC player in a game this season. His total of 25 points is the most by a Golden Bear freshman in a game since Feb. 22, 2018. Wilkinson has scored 64 points (21.3 PPG) in Cal's past three games – all wins – the most in a three-game stretch by a Cal freshman since 2016.
 
In an 82-72 victory against Cornell, Freeman had a career-high 23 points, as he hit 8-of-16 from the field and 7-of-7 from the free throw line. He completed the double-double with 12 rebounds and added three assists and one steal in 30 minutes of playing time. Freeman had 10 points and nine boards in the first half, helping Syracuse build a 39-28 margin at the intermission.
