CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia Tech graduate center Elizabeth Kitley has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Georgia Tech guard Rusne Augustinaite earned Rookie of the Week honors. Kitley earned her fifth Player of the Week honor this season and 13th for her career, while Augustinaite claimed her first ACC Rookie of the Week award this season.

ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Kitley posted back-to-back double-doubles to lead Virginia Tech to a pair of conference wins over Duke and Louisville last week, bringing her total to an ACC-best 19 on the season. The Summerfield, North Carolina, native recorded 34 points and 12 rebounds against the Blue Devils on Thursday, giving her a conference-best seven 30-point performances on the year. On Sunday, the center led all scorers with 26 points and 13 boards in a key road win at nationally-ranked Louisville. For the week, Kitley was league-best 25-for-33 (75.8 percent) from the field.

Augustinaite averaged 11.0 points and shot 50 percent (9-for-18) from the field in a pair of conference matchups last week. In Thursday’s road win at Clemson, the Šiauliai, Lithuania, native scored 14 points for her 15th double-figure performance of the season. In Sunday’s one-point setback at No. 6 NC State, the guard knocked down a pair of 3-pointers adding to GT’s 11 treys for the game. Augustinaite is currently tied for fifth in the ACC in 3-pointers per game with a 2.2 clip.
