CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday. Sweeping the weekly awards for the third time this season, Hidalgo earned her third Player of the Week honor and 12th Rookie of the Week nod.

ACC women’s basketball weekly awards are voted on by the league’s Blue Ribbon Panel.

Hidalgo recorded a 23-point, 12-rebound double-double as Notre Dame upended No. 5 Virginia Tech, 71-58. The freshman went 8-for-19 from the floor and 6-of-11 from the charity stripe in the Fighting Irish victory. The 12 rebounds marked a new career-high for the Haddonfield, New Jersey, native. On Sunday, Hidalgo poured in 26 points against No. 22 Louisville to lead the Fighting Irish to its second ranked win of the week. She went 7-for-11 from the field and knocked down 12-of-15 free throw attempts. Additionally, Hidalgo pulled down eight rebounds and dished our four assists while tallying six steals for Notre Dame.

Hidalgo and the Fighting Irish will be the No. 4 seed in the 2024 Ally ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Fighting Irish secured a double-bye and will play on Friday, March 8, at 11:00 a.m. on ACC Network.
